In a more "normal"/domestic context, when the gig is up, and the narcissist is discovered/exposed, they may just burn the village down (destroy what/whoever is exposing them), and move onto the next unsuspecting village/situation. And start all over again as described here: 1/
But obviously, due to the severity of Trump's disorders, the power of the office, and the magnification of the spotlight on him.....there's the potential for a very dangerous psychological meltdown/reaction if everything falls apart for him. Especially if he incites people....5/
....to believe that his demise is the result of some ridiculous "deep state" conspiracy to not only bring a "great man" down, but because Trump has manipulated/gaslighted his base in such a way that there has been a "mirroring" or merging of identities...6/
.....that any negative consequences that Trump (justly) faces, is a personal violation/attack on his people/base. 7/
Here's a couple of threads of threads touching on possible outcomes. This first one is especially timely/relevant given the Ukraine situation: 8/
The second theorizes his reaction to a highly public, potential shame-induced, narcissistic injury (impeachment, election loss, and/or incarceration): 9/
More follow up:
In the past I've considered whether Trump would be allowed to voluntarily "leave" for the good of the country.....10/
...and even suggested back in March that Mueller would abstain from the process in order to maintain some level of non-partisan civility. 11/
If for some reason Trump leaves office unscathed.... especially if prematurely (before completing 1 or even 2 terms)... it's possible that he does what he initially got into the 2016 race to promote and accomplish: create Trump TV. 12/
You can see a scenario where Trump would take his newfound emolument clause-violating riches and bankroll a Right-of-Fox, more-delusional-than-Info-Wars TV network with Sean Hannity as the Network's lead Carnival Barker. 14/
Yesterday I listened to Hannity's radio show, and it's apparent by the contrast in his demeanor/delivery (less articulate/composed/disciplined) that he loves the freedom/fewer constraints of radio/podcast, which when taken into consideration with this...15/huffpost.com/entry/sean-han…
...would suggest that he not only is frustrated with the constraints of TV, but with the rest of the networks unwillingness to go even farther down the road of becoming propagandized State TV. 16/
