Greetings to all on the first day of Navaratri celebrations.

@mmpandit asked me:

"Is it still your contention that the Mahabharata war started on Jyestha Amavasya (in 5561BCE)?"

(1/n)
@mmpandit My response:

"It is my assertion that the Mahabharata War began on 16 October 5561 BCE (Julian reference calendar) and the day was that of Amavasya.

Nothing more. Nothing less."

An assertion must be always backed by evidence.

@mmpandit Evidence set -1

Phases and positions of the moon through 18 days of the war from Bhishma, Drona, Karna, Shalya, Sauptic and Stri Parvas of Mahabharata

(3/n)
@mmpandit Visually, this evidence can be represented as follows and can be shown to be true for 16 Oct - 2 Nov 5561 BCE time period.

(4/n)
@mmpandit and this for 12 through 18 days of the war + 1-2 days after the war.
@mmpandit (6/n)

This is the claimed timeline by Prof. Achar.

@mmpandit, Do you comprehend the disaster this timeline is for the claim of 3067 BCE?

Let me know and I will be happy to point out why this is a disaster par excellence!
@mmpandit BTW, to those who are looking forward to our debate - @mmpandit and I, we request all of you to grab a book by Prof. Achar and my two books on Mahabharata (War and Bhishma Nirvana) and read them thoroughly.

Otherwise, we can not move the narration of Hindu civilization, forward.
@mmpandit While @mmpandit will be busy with his Navaratri sadhana/celebrations, anyone here finds a problem with the timeline?

Hint: You need to know the basics of the Mahabharata War but may not know a word of astronomy.
