Trump celebrating the brutal Chinese Communist regime is perfect. Republicans bashed Harry Truman for “losing China” at the time, although his strong anti-Communist record is obvious today.
And don’t stupidly praise China’s “economic success” the way CNN is doing today. Just look across the strait to Taiwan if you want a real success story. China’s regime starved and slaughtered millions for the sake of bankrupt ideology.
It’s a foolish and dangerous myth that some places or peoples need authoritarian regimes. The opportunity costs are enormous, the human costs even higher. Saying otherwise is the argument that slaves are better off than free people.
“Russians love a strongman”, “Arabs aren’t ready for democracy”, “free society wouldn’t work in China”. All ignorant, ahistorical, and racist. Everyone deserves freedom, and you don’t have to be “ready” for it. What is needed is opportunity.
