Here is the Turkish Communications Director linking to Daily Sabah (that's the URL in the left screenshot), a gov't-friendly outlet, owned by a company chaired by an associate of Erdogan & formerly headed by Erdogan's son-in-law!

This is the final paragraph & it's pure horse shit.

1) The US has *not* "borne the brunt of the counter-Islamic State campaign" - we've used proxies.

2) Turkey is pretending that purely out of the goodness of their heart they're sending their people to die in place of the US.

I'm blown away that a Washington Post columnist is covering the fact that Turkey is coordinating an assault with Russia while the Post gives the Turkish Communications Director an opinion space to gaslight us with this nonsense.

This is the second time in 2 weeks that the @washingtonpost gave Turkey opinion space to push their propaganda.

On September 29th, they published this by Erdogan, the President of Turkey, wherein he pretends he's a fierce defender of journalism & truth.

In the WaPo piece, Erdogan opines on the horrors of Khashoggi’s murder and how Turkey will fight for transparency and clarity, all the while Turkey has been identified as the country that leads the world in jailed journalists.

Turkey has begun its assault on the Kurds.

Trump and the GOP opened the door to another genocide by Turkey and the Washington Post gave them a platform to gaslight us with propaganda.

Turkey has been a real-time example of a country's descent into authoritarianism.

Erdogan has wrangled more and more power for himself and used that power to lock up journalists, political opponents, Kurds, academics, etc.

WaPo should not be giving authoritarians a voice.
