All three of the previous impeachment efforts were all denounced as "coups" as well.
When Democrat Andrew Johnson was facing impeachment in 1868, his supporters -- like this New York Herald piece -- denounced the effort as a "coup d'etat"
When Republican Richard Nixon was facing impeachment in 1973, his supporters -- like this letter writer to a Washington Post columnist -- denounced the effort as a "coup d'etat."
When Democrat Bill Clinton was facing impeachment in 1998, his supporters -- like these Hollywood celebrities -- denounced the effort as a "coup d'etat."
While I have your attention, @parscale, the idea that Trump is "the most popular Republican president in American history" is laughably wrong.

Here are Gallup's numbers for Trump and GWBush, GHWBush & Reagan -- all of whom hit much higher levels of approval than Trump ever has.
@parscale And here are Gallup's numbers for Trump and Ford, Nixon & Eisenhower -- all of whom hit much higher levels of approval than Trump ever has.
@parscale Trump is actually the *least* popular Republican president in modern history.

Good luck spinning that. washingtonexaminer.com/washington-sec…
