Not going to dispute the metrics as I don’t know how they were applied. But this is why my first question to @Microsoft president @BradSmi was “What about Warren?” We discussed if it was possible for #BigTech to adopt a private sector “industrial policy” that targeted such cities
Imagine if each of the top 25 #BigTech companies committed to one capital project in two of the cites on this list —a data center, a distribution hub, or best of all, and R&D effort partnered with a local university. No government involvement needed. Just some civic mindedness.
All of #BigTech needs new facilities, new centers of gravity. Redundancy makes great economic sense. Using this list as a starting point for planners —not an exclusive list, but a required metric over the next few years— would work marvelous changes to long depressed regions.
