According to this 2014 EPA fact sheet, burning jet fuel emits 21 lbs of carbon per gallon. So if above figures are right, that would mean 151,200 lbs of carbon per hour of Blue Angel annoying-as-fuck flyovers. eia.gov/environment/em…

#WhereWereYou That morning, I had just started a new schedule and was due into the office @ 9:00 a.m. a few blocks from the WTC. I remember leaving on time but, the train kept stopping & starting after leaving Grand Central.
When I finally got off at the Bowling Green & walked out onto Broadway, I smelled the burning jet fuel immediately & stopped. In the few seconds it took me to recognize that something was wrong, I heard a loud noise overhead & looked up.
I saw the flash of the tail as something flew above the downtown buildings & heard a loud boom. My view was obscured but, it sounded like an explosion. Immediately, I could hear people on the street screaming & dozens began running in my direction.

These two disturbing images illustrate the extent of the fires that are blazing through the Amazon right now.

One is from NASA's FIRMS, which pinpoints individual fires, and the other is from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service, which shows biomass burning aerosol.
We can blame Bolsonaro, and we should. But also keep in mind that this is being driven in large part by the corporate beef complex, which is mostly controlled by a handful of giant agribusinesses: JBS (Brazilian), Tyson Foods (USA), Cargill (USA) and Smithfield (USA).
The USA is the biggest consumer of beef in the world, burning through 26 billion lbs of it per year, followed by Brazil.

Americans and Brazilians consume on average 80 lbs of beef per person per year.

McDonalds and Burger King should put these images on their hamburger boxes.
