That would be simultaneous negotiation with EU, US and Japan, to reach agreements with all three in three years. Start with three of the four biggest global markets. Without knowing what you want from any of the agreements beyond 'free trade' however defined.
Will look forward to seeing whether the Trade Bill says anything about the arrangements by which these new agreements will be scrutinised. And perhaps a clause about realistic expectations from a Secretary of State
The UK should not look to quickly negotiate trade agreements with huge markets after Brexit. We first need to know what our actual interests are and will be in ten years time. This takes time. A political decision, likely to cost us.
I checked the notes. Trade Bill as before. Nothing about scrutiny of new agreements. House of Lords objected before and will again, and rightly so. Business and civil society united in also asking for more Parliamentary scrutiny. assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/upl…
