@ec_schneider Warren also said she would not accept any contributions > $200 from "executives" at big tech companies, big banks, private equity firms, or hedge funds. Campaign added that this is retroactive and any previous donations will be refunded.
@ec_schneider campaign defined "executive" as: “cross-check the leadership team for each company with what they post on their own websites.” They did not elaborate further so unclear how many ppl this will apply to. Tech cos include Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, Lyft, and Uber.
@ec_schneider Re: DNC, Warren’s campaign did not comment on whether she would make the party return corporate/lobbyist $. Sanders’ campaign has warned the DNC and potential donors that it “is under no obligation to fulfill any transaction with a corporation trying to corruptly buy access.”
@ec_schneider Warren also laid out some more details on a plan to revamp campaign financing including reducing the individual limit to $1,000 max and installing a 6-1 small $ publicly financed matching system for donations less than $200.
