I am stunned and saddened by the sudden death of #ElijahCummings. What a powerhou5se, what a leader. He never stopped fighting for the most vulnerable, the most marginalized, the most needy.

In the 17yrs I wrote for the Baltimore Sun, #ElijahCummings was a headline-maker. I shall never forget him at #FreddieGray's funeral excoriating the press: "Did you see him?" Cummings thundered over and over, asking why no one noticed Gray in life, but flocked to his funeral.

Shocker that Van Jones is stanning for Tulsi Gabbard and claiming Hillary Clinton is "smearing" Gabbard (whose name she never mentioned) and "playing a very dangerous game." Jones also claims that Hillary is "paying back" Gabbard for endorsing Sanders in 2016.

@OutFrontCNN The idea that Hillary Clinton has been nursing a grudge against someone as insignificant as Gabbard is ludicrous. Conversely, no one addressed the FACT that the Russians paid for ads for Stein and targeted Sanders voters.

I've had my life threatened on here and a Twitter follower stalked me, vandalized my house and car and put me in the hospital with a stress-induced heart problem. I can attest to the problem of inciting violence.

When POTUS does it,followers like those of his who put my pic in concentration camp garb & in a cattle car in front of Auschwitz get permission to be violent. Trump encourages violence at his rallies and on here regularly. You don't have to agree with banning him, to see that. 2/
Post-debate Harris was asked about her stance in a "really, gurl?" tone by Jake Tapper and her voice rose as she informed him that Trump is threatening witnesses on here and that is a crime. So look at the totality of her point.

When I was growing up my family did not bicker. My father had no tolerance for bickering. I have a memories of back seat squabbles in my Dad’s car and my father's swift, powerful arm reaching back to swipe at us. 1/
One summer evening on a long stretch of highway at dusk, in the middle of nowhere pungent wheat fields my father's swiping arm failed to stop the squabbling. My Dad pulled the car over to the shoulder of the road and he threw us out of the car. 2/
He threw the car in gear and started speeding up along the shoulder. He made us run after the car. I was the youngest and lagging behind. I remember blubbering and trying to keep up as the tail lights pulled away. 3/

Finally. A thread about my service. I’m not one to brag, and this thread will not be about me, although you will learn a lot about me. First, some ground rules. I am a Vietnam ERA vet, NOT a Vietnam vet.
Vietnam vet is reserved for those who served in country or in the territorial waters off Vietnam. You will never find me wearing a Vietnam vet hat, because I am not a Vietnam vet. It’s not that I’m ashamed of it. I didn’t earn that honor, and I will not steal it from others.
The Vietnam War was a very contentious war in America. Members of the military were treated like crap in the later years of the war. I personally know of people who were spit on, had feces thrown at them and were verbally attacked (baby killer, etc.).
