The Métis of the South Saskatchewan-draft manuscript- N. Anick- 1976.400 p.- Claims and Historical Research Centre- S.41-Introduction - the mixed population - The Metis.
The Métis of the South Saskatchewan-draft manuscript-N. Anick-1976.400 p Claims and Historical Research Centre-S.41 The Metis were nomadic vs the Country Born were more interested in financial gain/ vs How Jim Brady described them as Progressives ( Red River Metis - agricultural)
and Nomadics ( traditional hunting/fishing/trapping Metis) /Brady.Quotes - Metis Museum - It is my considered opinion that no further application should be received from any Metis with an inclination toward the nomadic life. - Very Interesting !!/ Brady.Quotes - Metis Museum - talking about nomadic and progressives and how nomadic are hostile to french descent progressives.
The one-and-a-half men-the story of Jim Brady and Malcolm Norris, Metis patriots of the twentieth century-Dobbin, Murray-1981-Brady said the Metis comprised of 2 classes-Nomadic (traditional hunting, fishing, trapping) and Progressive. (Red River Metis-working class/agricultural)
The Half-breed problem - The Ewing Commision -/Federal and provincial responsibility in the Métis settlements of Alberta - Fred Martin - 1988. 50 p - Claims and Historical Research Centre S.l4 - half-breed definition -a person of mixed blood - white and Indian.
The one-and-a-half men- the story of Jim Brady and Malcolm Norris, Metis patriots of the twentieth century-Dobbin, Murray-1981- Ewing commissions working definition of a half-breed. - if he has one drop of Indian blood in his veins and has not been assimilated ...
The one-and-a-half men- the story of Jim Brady and Malcolm Norris, Metis patriots of the twentieth century-Dobbin, Murray-1981- Ewing commission - Brady's weapon was the Metis associations demonstration of Metis unity and determination.
The one-and-a-half men - the story of Jim Brady and Malcolm Norris, Metis patriots of the twentieth century.- Dobbin, Murray - 1981 -The Rebirth of Metis Nationalism.-Metis Nationalism was French and Catholic-In the 19th Century All classes were involved- but in the 20th Century-
Working class (Red River Progressive Metis) had little economic or self interest in the struggles. The struggle was principally in the interest of the Nomadic (nonTreaty, trapping, hunting, fishing, traditional) destitute people.
The one-and-a-half men - the story of Jim Brady and Malcolm Norris, Metis patriots of the twentieth century.- Dobbin, Murray - 1981 - The Rebirth of Metis Nationalism- principally the advanced Metis were drawn to the movement by nationalist sentiment - a renewed feeling of
kinship with their poorer cousins. ( So Progressive Red River Metis, felt more of a kinship to their Nomadic (nontreaty, traditional hunting fishing Metis) If that isn't the most ironic thing I have read, considering how fast they are trying to shed these people today. #Metis
Also if these Progressive working class/agricultural land based Red River Metis were re-newing their connections to the Nomadic (traditional, hunting, fishing, trapping Metis, closer to their tribal roots) wouldn't that be #raceshifting from colonized farming land owning people
to re-newing their aboriginal cultures and connections ?? Or does that just apply to the #EasternMetis ?? Inquiring minds would love to know !! @DarrylLeroux .. Saying this very firmly with tongue in cheek.
