Me : Yep.
X : What next?
Me : Fascinating. A motion on a new deal approved by the Commons, I wasn't expecting that. I assume tomorrow that the Gov will table a motion for the HoL to take notice of this.
X : What about the delay?
X : Yes, what will happen?
Me : Is it relevant?
X : Otherwise an extension.
Me : Does the Benn act apply if they table a motion to the HoL? Don't they just need to fill up the schedule now with the Queen's speech etc? Am I missing something?
Me : Well, I must be reading this wrong but didn't we just vote to allow a no deal brexit? They've got everything they need. They park the bill, Benn act no longer applies, just fill up the schedule? Given no outcry, I assume I am missing something?
Me : Not a lot does with this whole process. I thought the Benn Act just needed approval of a motion but I'm sure we will find out over the next day or so. Everyone seems to be claiming a victory for extension -
Me : Ah, well I missed that. Not been following, busy with other stuff. Well, that's good to know.
Me : Well, given they covered that loophole then assuming the EU approves this it looks like an extension is on the cards unless someone crafty has found another play. Fascinating stuff, should keep the papers busy.
