Feeling in Parliament:
-ERG MPs going around saying PM told them election is coming with extension. They assume Corbyn is going to have to vote for it.
BUT
-PLP is deeply uneasy. Several Labour MPs told me there’s no way they’ll vote for one, even if Corbyn tells them to do so

Why PLP reluctance?
-some think they can continue to tie Johnson up in knots
-some that Corbyn is bigger problem than Brexit and don't want to go into another election with him in any circs
-some think Johnson victory in deal/election an inevitability. So why go for elex now?

-also some Labour MPs think EHRC investigation into Labour Party (due in January) will finish Corbyn off and they might be able to go into election with different leader.
Labour whips know about the disquiet. MPs have been telling them all day.
But, there’s not much doubt in mind, if Labour turns down election now, eventually, Johnson’s deal will pass. As I wrote earlier, in the absence of any alternative, it exerts its own relentless gravity.
