@emilylheil Challenge is CAP-START designed for non-ICU pts, had low identification rates of atypical patients, questionable endpoint for acute infection. Prescribers could add on other antibiotics for non-CAP indication, so 40% of patients in monotherapy arm had atypical coverage #accpam19

@emilylheil what about HCAP? the 2007 risk factors for healthcare-associated pneumoniae were not good at predicting patients with MRDO, but led to massive overuse of broad spectrum. luckily this concept was retired with new guidelines☠️
