Morrison has so far corroborated testimony by Bill Taylor, the top US diplomat in Ukraine, about interactions the two had regarding the president’s efforts to press for investigations, but he did deviate on some details, such as the location of an interaction, sources said.
Morrison has also been offering his opinion about what he views as right and wrong and believes the National Security Council process in regards to Ukraine was legally sound.
At times, Morrison’s attorney has instructed his client not to answer questions about interactions with the president, the sources said. Debbie Wasserman Shultz said there was a “tussle” between attorneys
But Republicans emerged saying Morrison’s testimony undercuts Democrats’ argument on impeachment.

Morrison’s concern was about potential leaks of the transcript. He was concerned about how the leaked transcript would play out in a “polarized environment” in Washington, how it would impact bipartisan support for Ukrain and how it would impact the Ukrainian’s perception of US

In describing a conversation he had w/ Taylor, Morrison also said Sondland indicated it would have been sufficient for Trump if the Ukrainian prosecutor general announced the investigations he sought. Taylor said that Morrison indicated Trump wanted Zelensky to announce the probe
Responding to Rep. Mark Meadows who argued that Morrison testimony today undercut the Democrats’ narrative, House Foreign Affairs Chairman Eliot Engel called such an argument “ridiculous.”
