This New Englander-turned-Virginian who’s only been to TX once developed such a fondness for Texas and it’s people through Beto. You guys welcomed us right in and I will always remember that.
I’m avoiding the office, where there’s a big stack of petition forms I was going to get notarized next week to get Beto on the ballot here in VA.
It’s all just gone... in a flash.
It was a lot of work, and I often felt overcommitted. But at the same time, I loved it. It gave me hope.
For now.
Beto is young. He will be back. I know in my heart this is see you later, not goodbye.
Right now I need a break from politics (*except impeachment news). But I know we’ll all be working together again in the future.
When Trump said he only wanted educated, white immigrants from Scandinavia, my husband decided he would become a citizen so he could vote against Trump.
He was so proud at the thought of casting his first vote for Beto.
