This Reuters story about the General Prosecutor's Office in Ukraine appears complete misreporting. The GPO has been pervasively corrupt & not done any useful work for the last quarter of a century. A complete purge from the top is vital.

The @ZelenskyyUa administration has started doing exactly that, appointing a well-respected former deputy minister of justice Ruslan Ryaboshapka prosecutor general & Vitaliy Kasko, one of the few heroes of the GPO in 2015-16. They have imposed competence exams on all prosecutors.
Needless to say many incompetent prosecutors are sacked or leave with their embarrassing ignorance. Rather than celebrating this development, the @Reuters journalists complain that many cases are being delayed or lost. Given that no serious work occurred in GPO this can't be true
The only source of this article is three old prosecutors, presumably of the substandard group. No member of Ukraine's excellent anticorruption groups, e.g. @ANTAC_ua is being asked. Who writes it? @polinaivanovva has just arrived from Moscow & knows little about Ukraine.
A more relevant query would be if sufficiently many prosecutors are being sacked & whether safeguards against future corruption are being established. In short, no understanding of real problems, wrong questions, wrong interviewees & wrong sources. Time for improvement!
