"Don't read too much into the Kentucky race. Bevin was uniquely unpopular, this has nothing to do with Democrats vs. Republicans. The people don't want what Democrats are selling."

"Why was he so unpopular?"

"Well, he supported Republican policies and opposed Democratic ones."
Don't listen to the bluster - the GOP is looking at Virginia and Kentucky and quietly losing it today.

Donald Trump went to Kentucky and made a personal appeal for people to vote for Bevin for his sake.
I wonder what Mitch McConnell thinks about all the people saying, "Don't worry about Kentucky, it's still solid red, Bevin was just brought down by his dismal approval ratings." today.
I do, too, but I worry that everything will make Democrats lax, so my strategy in that regard doesn't change much based on whether they're winning or losing.

I know the GOP is still trying to claw back the Kentucky results. I hope they don't succeed, but if they do, do not despair... it doesn't mean things are pointless, it means they haven't moved far enough in the right direction yet.
If the GOP cheats in Kentucky, then the appropriate response is anger, not despair. If they steal a close election in 2019, then anger will deliver a margin too big to cheat their way around in 2020.
