A good friend of mine had these thoughts after watching the video below. I think her words really nailed it, so I hope you read her words and watch the video.
This is what good people sit in church and hear. It sounds so benign...until you think about the word “control” - and what that means for people of different faiths, people who are gay or transgender, people who don’t believe in God the way these churches preach. (1)
You don’t even have to be atheist to be considered “controlled by Satan” in this theology - just not the believer in a Jesus and religious view that they hold. (2)
“Control” in these 7 areas....what does that look like? Like Bathroom laws, like Foster family laws restricting love to certain kinds of people (NOT “those”), (3)
like education requirements to teach this theology and debate or objections criminalized, like laws restricting access to (mostly poor) women to healthcare and birth control. (4)
This is it folks. They are winning in Texas. Only awakening those who still think “Christian” always means something good, those who go to church and just aren’t quite realizing how Un-American this agenda truly is, (5)
who vote “against” things they are told to fear, rather than “For” democracy, and government for All...and those who say “my vote doesn’t matter, I don’t have time for politics” (7)
...only those waking up to reality and stopping this Crazy will make a difference. Knowing the people I know in Hood County - and so many rural areas all over the U.S. -who have bought in to this, I don’t have much hope. Lord, Hear our prayer. (End)
