A few days after the election in Nov. 2018, exhausted, still processing what happened in the blur of the year-and-a-half-long campaign, I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. Normally, I ignore numbers I don't recognize. But this time, I picked up.

It was @ewarren. 1/ Image
@ewarren "I was just reading about your election - congratulations!" she said. Then, she asked about the people in my district. How were they? What was on their minds? What were they looking forward to? What were they struggling with? 2/
@ewarren We talked about clean water and the Great Lakes, about our schools and teachers, about how quickly the auto industry is changing and our incredible history of design, manufacturing, and innovation - about why I love Michigan and what inspired me to run. 3/
@ewarren She asked how I was feeling about the election & my new job, and gave me her cell number in case I ever wanted to chat or needed some advice.

A year later - Michigan is on the 2020 map in a big way. I've been grateful to talk to many of the candidates and their teams. 4/
@ewarren Many have asked, "How can I do well in Michigan?" But only one asked *about* Michigan, about my neighbors, about how we're doing.

It's a small nuance that shows exactly why I'm all-in on @ewarren. 5/
@ewarren Because behind every (incredibly detailed) plan, policy proposal, town hall, or event - there's one core idea that shines through:

We need leaders who care.

About people. Not just politics. 6/
@ewarren Before we can tackle the very real issues that lay ahead, we need to change how politics works.

We need to change who has a voice.
We need to change who sits at the table.
We need to change who holds power and influence.

Big, structural change can't wait.
