I remember 10 years ago, around the 20th anniversary, I also gave a talk on the subject. It was almost exclusively backward-looking. I didn't relate it to anything happening in Britain at the time, because it didn't seem relevant.
This time is a bit different, because:

When something fails repeatedly, despite lots and lots of attempts to make it work, we eventually stop doing it.
There are two main exceptions to this:
1.) Socialism.
2.) Companies trying to suck up to commies via self-flagellation and the adoption of leftie rhetoric.
You can appease someone who objects to specific things that you do (namely, by doing less of it, and signalling your remorse).
But you can't appease someone who objects to the fact that you exist.
Why is that so hard to understand?

The year is 2033.
94% of the British public are now members of Extinction Rebellion.
These edgy nonconformists have regular meetings up and down the country, where they talk about the need to Raise Awareness of climate change.
Britain is governed by a Tory/Brexit Party/UKIP/DUP coalition, in a confidence-and-supply agreement with the Lib Dems and 12 different centrist parties, including Change The Independent TIG Group for Change in an Independently Changing UK.
Corbo, now in his mid-80s, is still leader of the opposition.
There have been 14 General Elections since 2019. Corbo always comes within a few votes of winning, but never QUITE makes it over the line.

The idea that someone needs to "raise awareness" of climate change is beyond absurd.
At least in the Western world, we have been panicking about climate change non-stop for over 20 years. It's been a high-profile issue for as long as my political memories stretch back.
You might as well stage a protest at the Vatican to "raise awareness" of Catholicism.
Everyone is already aware of it. It is already taken extremely seriously. And a HUGE amount is being done about it.
Remember how, in 2001, everyone in the world hated George W. Bush, because he didn't want to sign the Kyoto Protocol?
That was well before Iraq; it was the only thing we knew about him. And it was enough to turn him into the world's bogeyman. Climate change was super-high-profile

Raising Higher Rate threshold benefits a bit over 4 million people.
Raising the starting rate for National Insurance would benefit 32 million people.
Cutting council tax benefits 27 million households.
We must focus on cutting the taxes people on average incomes pay.

The CPS, polled the idea of raising the national insurance threshold to £12,000 a year – and found that 76% approved.
In contrast, raising the top rate threshold polls badly. A Populus poll found that 58% of voters said they were against, and only 21% in favour.

First up, I don’t think ‘hate speech’ is capable of legal definition [1]

Sorry, Americans, with their 1A, are right about this. Yes I realise it’s annoying if you’re British to admit the Yanks are in front of the UK on anything, but here we are. [2].
However, in may case - and in some of the others to which I’ll refer, the problem is not legal definitions of hate speech as enacted in these Islands. It’s every Tom, Dick, and Harry having a subjective definition of hate speech, which leads to absurdities. [3]
