This is astonishing to watch. The most the opposition can demonstrate here is that Morales didn't avoid a runoff, meaning he still won the first round of the election. He's offering them a runoff and now they're demanding that he resign altogether because lol fuck you.
I'd say imagine what would happen if the Chilean military were to take this step but of course the Chilean military wouldn't take this step because Pinera is a right winger.
And again, if your argument is that Morales is wrong because he shouldn't have run for a third and then fourth term, please explain what leftist leaders are supposed to do. Because when they do obey the rules and leave after two terms you get Brazil.
Step down as required and the right subverts the electoral system to install a military-backed government. Break the rules to remain in power and the right still subverts the electoral system to install a military-backed government. The end result is the same.

Again, the Good Liberals who want to make this about Morales transgressing Democratic Norms need to propose a path forward. Because Lula obeyed the Norms and the far right still manipulated the system to seize power.
Socialism is not incompatible with democracy, but it sure as hell is incompatible with this "fuck you, pay me" version of democracy that the right, the liberal center, and the military-police establishment have created.
