Tory Remainers will vote LibDems in decent numbers. They will never vote Corbyn.

That's why an electoral pact has to be mutual, not unilateral. Otherwise the "Remain camp" as a whole is just throwing away huge swathes of votes.

If Tory Remainers decide that the LibDems are ushering in a Corbyn Government (by unilaterally standing down in seats Labour's fighting hard) they won't vote for the LD. But they won't switch to Labour, no chance of that! So it's just wasted votes.
But a proper real grown-up election pact with clear give and take on both sides is a much easier sell. Because it's then not about propping up Corbyn. It's about maximising the number of MPs likely to favour a path that could lead eventually to Remain.
The data in the first tweet is also an indication of why the LibDems may be poised to do well in *many* seats. If they can pick up 29% of Tory Remain voters *and* 39% of Labour Remain voters in areas that tended strongly Remain, they're going to walk it in those seats.
That's why the LibDems' national polling figure may be underselling their "power" in Remain seats. Basically you would expect their "Stop Brexit" stance to see them move backwards (from a low base) in Leave areas. But rocket ahead in Remain areas. Averaging hides that effect.
