In an effort to compete with Google's ongoing war on their own customers, @awscloud has quietly rolled out a potentially breaking change to their Application Load Balancers. A thread.
"For load balancers created before November 11" is the passive-voice form of this change. Starting Monday, if you had a header field with anything other than a-z, numbers, or a '-' character, it gets silently dropped due to this breaking change.
If you visit the graveyard known as the @awscloud forums, you can see customers being caught out by this. forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?me…
Other, larger accounts with TAMs who were more on the ball got warned about this breaking change.
In conclusion if your new ALBs have been breaking this week, this may be why. lastweekinaws.com
...and the change is being rolled back. You too can abrasively tweet your way to a better tomorrow!
