will all start to become uninhabitable by 2030.
The only way to react positively to the terrifying cataclysm of climate breakdown and ecological collapse is by joining in solidarity to achieve #ClimateJustice.

Vote and strike for decarbonisation by 2030.

Emissions must be virtually completely stopped by 2029 otherwise we may well head for a desert planet and billions dead by 2045 - 2075. That's my opinion based on the science. Huge risk. Our governments are busy killing us.

Thread explaining the map:👇
Levels of heat and humidity that exceed what humans can survive will hit regions of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh within 'a few decades'. ⚠️

Some regions will become uninhabitable, but we may yet limit the damage by stopping greenhouse gas emissions now.news.mit.edu/2017/deadly-he…
At 1.5°C - 2°C of global warming (set to happen between 2023 and 2036), The Middle East and North Africa will become 'so hot that human habitability is compromised'.

'limiting global warming to less than 2°C will not be sufficient to prevent this scenario'mpg.de/10481936/clima…
Cities in the Tropics are set to become close to uninhabitable over the next decade just from heat.

Kingston, Jamaica will begin to experience 'dramatic, life altering temperatures' by 2023; La Paz, Bolivia by 2028; and Lagos, Nigeria by 2029.

Thread:👇

'At 2C, parts of southwest Asia, including well-populated regions of the Persian Gulf and Yemen, may become literally uninhabitable..'

'researchers predict a massive decline in the viability of food crops critical for human survival' ⚠️
Unsurvivable heat threshold "may be breached sooner than projected" (by 2025-2035, for example, not 2070).

'The limit of survivability, at 35C WBT, was almost reached in Bandar Mahshahr in Iran in July 2015' ⚠️ theguardian.com/environment/20…
Sea level rise will make currently inhabited regions increasingly difficult and perhaps impossible to live in with or without unbearable heat levels.

Sea level rise/flooding thread: 👇
Earth is undergoing one of the largest climate changes in the past 65 million years, set to occur at a rate 10 times faster than any change in that period.

Without massive action, this extreme pace could lead to an unsurvivable 5-6°C temperature spike.
👇
We were heading for 2°C by 2036 back in early 2014.

Five and a half years later, and things are now even worse: emissions are *accelerating* and there's no sign of them decreasing anytime soon.

1.5°C by 2029 looks likely. Will 2°C follow within years?
