The bombshell of the IG audit of the use of Confidential Human Sources is that FBI has no way of verifying “extraterritorial subsources.” When Halper/Steele attributed any “intelligence” to a foreign “source” of theirs, FBI accepts it as evidence without independently verifying.
Everyone knows from Steele’s dossier that his sources were not verified. Now we know from IG audit that the FBI does not verify extraterritorial (foreign) subsources. Can you see the fix? That’s how the FBI will try to get out of this.
It then turns on a major issue highlighted in the IG audit: lack of adequate control of the Confidential Human Sources by FBI, ignoring red flags about CHS. Motivation is one red flag. Steele and Halper hated Trump. Speaking to the Press- both Halper and Steele did- is another.
