Trumpers try to rally around one sentence from Sondland: He "never heard those words" that aid was conditioned on Biden investigation.

He didn't have to. Because Zelinsky heard those words directly from Trump:

“I would like you to do us a favor though.”

2/ And keep in mind, Sondland said he didn't hear those explicit words from President Trump.
But he is clear that Giuliani ordered quid pro quo on behalf of Trump, serving Trump's "desires."
Trump is now yelling on TV:
"Sondland said that I told him 'I want nothing.'"

That still doesn't change what Trump directly told Zelinsky he wanted in exchange for arms on his own (edited) transcript:
Trump⁩: “I would like you to do us a favor though.”

Trump and Mulvaney decided to put a hold on Ukraine aid on July 12th (email from Mulvaney), while giving no explanation to Sandy or other OMB staff.
The Ukraine hold was practically under way, directed from above, 2 weeks before the July 25 call
3/ OK, here's the story, and Volker is quoted:
"I think it’s important that NATO stand up to make clear that all of us have an interest in the freedom of navigation, the open access, the economic development of the region, and the security of the region."

We're overdue for the hearings to start again. I'll not be able to capture as much this time but will still be here to offer as much as I can.
One thing to understand as we get into Morrison's testimony, which I'm sure will involve questions about his comments on Lt Col Vindman: the point of attaching a witnesses credibility is to suggest the witness might not be presenting correct facts.
Lt Col Vindman has testified to facts that have been corroborated by multiple witnesses, the WH call memo, and comments from the president and chief of staff. There is simply no reason to take these shots at him other than to try to deflect and distract.

Multiple reports say Taylor has testified to quid pro quo: Military aid for investigating Bidens.

But Sondland is insisting it may have just been "investigate corruption."

So again: Rudy has called for investigations of *Biden* since May.

Here's Taylor's testimony in which he says Sondland explicitly told him that the military aid was conditioned on an investigation into Burisma.

As the timeline shows, it had been widely public for months at that point that this meant "smear Biden."
Wow, look at this. Taylor testified that Morrison told him Sondland had confided that Trump wanted an explicit announcement of an investigation into *Biden.*

So that blows apart Sondland's claim he didn't know this was about Biden!
