This is radical stuff from Labour: extending the right to vote to 16 and 17 year olds and all those who are resident in Britain, even if they’re not UK citizens. That would be the biggest extension of the franchise since 1928. Millions would be added to the electoral roll.
Question is would Labour's franchise extension be implemented *before* their Brexit referendum? If it were (an extension which would include EU citizens) consequences would be enormous and obvious: remain would likely walk it.
The answer to this question, according to a Labour source is that it will be "subject to the legislative timetable." Hmm.
