Fifth and final public hearing in the Longworth Building today (barring late drama). Up are Fiona Hill, the White House’s ex-top Russia expert who heard Bolton call Ukraine plan a “drug deal”, and David Holmes, who overheard Trump call seeking update on “investigations”. 
Attended a briefing from Hill once. She was steely and clear-eyed about the threat posed by Vladimir Putin’s Russia. Already emerged she will criticise Republicans in opening statement for echoing the “fictional narrative” that Ukraine not Russia meddled in 2016 election.
Hill is also the first Brit to appear in these hearings. Born in the North, daughter of a coal miner, took US citizenship in 2002. She talks about that upbringing in prepared remarks.
