unfortunately, it seems they couldn't swing Sagaia Game Boy, which was only made available as Amazon preorder DLC during a 48hr window half a year before launch... it's not a make-or-break or anything but that shit always irks me
it's also worth mentioning that the arcade collection's "Sagaia (ver.2)" is not only substantially different to Sagaia but it was undumped, undocumented & essentially unknown to the world until it was discovered for this collection, even current-day Taito didn't know it existed
iirc Taito's designation for Sagaia ver.2 is "functionally unreleased"—like, they have a hunch it may have seen an extremely limited release in Europe but it's impossible to verify

the changes aren't quite as wild as, say, Salamander to Life Force, but they're very obvious to anyone who's familiar with the original, and it's amazing that a series as popular as Darius is & was in Japan still had secrets that the fanatical fans hadn't uncovered decades ago
one more thing I overlooked, this version of the console collection includes two extra games:
Darius Plus (PCE, a HuCard back-port of Super Darius PCECD which isn't on the collection)
Super Nova (SNES version of Darius Force SFC, iirc it's not substantially different)

there's also Super Darius II (PCECD) which is a fairly liberal & not especially well-received conversion of Darius II: it's buggy, cramped, a lot of the new/replacement bosses are quite silly, the music was completely replaced with typical corny T's Music guitar rock, etc
so it is, make that three games! iirc Sagaia Genesis & Darius II MD are pretty much identical as well
scratch that, it sounded fluffy because it was fluffy, Darius Cozmic Collection's coming digitally, just not from SLG
