I did. I went and saw her speak in Harlem last week.
I took notes, something Newspapers are suppose to do. Here are my notes (thread): #KHive

1/ "I started my career fighting for justice in the way that I chose to do it. Which is yes, I confess, to go up the rough side of the mountain and become a prosecutor..."

Kamala also said she knew that our system, which was suppose to provide justice, didn't always do that.

2/ Kamala said, "I decided I would go inside [the system] to change what needed to change in addition to all of the important work that was happening on the outside."

She echoed this sentiment here from an article in June. latimes.com/politics/la-na…

3/ "I started my career then walking into a courtroom speaking five words... basis our campaign. Those five words were, "Kamala Harris, For The People." When I spoke those words, it meant to me [there] are essential components of our system of justice we must always fight for."

4/ Kamala said regardless of ones sex, race, gender expression, or live geographically etc. that one such component was: "harm against any one of us is a harm against all of us. And for that reason then no one should be made to fight alone." #KHive

5/This is at the heart of why Kamala is running, "and fighting this fight. And this is a fight to be sure. This is a fight for our very identity as a country. This is a fight for our system of justice. This is a fight for our rule of law. And this is a fight for our democracy."

5/"To win, I believe we must be focused on the future. That bringing back yesterday is not going to solve problems of tomorrow. To win, we're going to have to fight against very powerful forces that indeed have had an impact as they've tried to sow hate and division among us."

6/Tonight a parent "will sit at a kitchen table at midnight when everybody else has gone to sleep... working 2 jobs, trying to figure out how to get through the end of the month, paying more taxes than the 400 richest families in America. Economic justice is on the ballot."

7/There's a parent w/ "a child with an out of control fever who takes the child to the hospital but is hesitant to go to the emergency room because even w/ health insurance, it's going to be out of pocket a $1,000 to $4,000 deductible. Healthcare justice is on the ballot."

8/ "...our babies, elementary, middle, and high school students, are going to school to endure drills during where they're taught about how they need to hide in the closet if there's a mass shooter roaming the hallways of their school. Justice for our children is on the ballot."

9/In conclusion @jmartNYT @AsteadWesley @alexburnsNYT @chelsea_janes If you don't know "who Kamala is or what she stands for" its because you're not listening & can't be bothered. I expect more from the media than idle gossip. Still rooting for y'all even as you debase yourselves
