[Thread] 1/ @GuidoFawkes reported a story in which a Tory activist was allegedly attacked with acid. This was then downgraded to perfume. However, if you go on Guido's blog and try to tweet the article, it will still come with title "Tory Activist Attacked with Acid in Barnet"
@GuidoFawkes 2/ The story was originally posted around 4.19pm UK time. It still managed to get around 211 comments on the post, many of the comments believed it was an acid attack - it's hard to know how many left with that belief. Some fairly unpleasant stuff in there...
@GuidoFawkes 3/ Based on tweeting containing 'Acid' and 'Barnet', I made a network graph. This will also include tweets clarifying that the acid was perfume, but the term acid is still used for emotive force (as was fear). As you can see from the network graph, @GuidoFawkes is the most 
4/ influential peddlar of the story. Those such as @alexwickham are showing as they are influential in rebutting the story. However, you can see @DailyMailUK and @TheSun turning a non story into a story with their usual fear-mongering

I'm hoping it has been nipped in the bud, although arguably the 'non-story' of 'acid attack fears' is enough to be used to paint the Tories as victims
