Every news report I have read about impeachment (and it's an absurdly large number) contains a casual line to the effect of, "The Senate is 'widely expected' to acquit Trump."
It drives me CRAZY that it's stated in such an offhanded, "Oh well!" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ sort of manner. /1

Wouldn't a statement like this better help the public understand the gravity of the moment:
"The Senate is 'widely expected' to acquit Trump, and by doing so, Trump will have the powers of a king; the Legislative Branch's powers to check him will become null and void." /3

*No senator* should go into this with the idea of "All the papers figured we'd acquit Trump, so it's really no big deal. It was -after all - 'widely expected'."
Instead, it should be 'widely expected' that EVERY SENATOR UPHOLDS THEIR OATH TO PROTECT OUR CONSTITUTION! /5x
