Labour are "for the many, not the few".

The Tories, though they'll never admit it, lean towards "for the few, not the many".

What we need, in a world of divisions, is a party that's "for everyone". Where the rich don't feel hounded and scapegoated. Where the poor get more help.
A party shorn of extremes, acting at all times to make the UK a better place to be. Part of that is about striving for greater equality, but that cannot be the obsessive, overarching driving force.

Imagine for instance an NHS so good, it obviates the need for private care.
Maybe a pipe dream, but even the well off don't spend money they literally don't have to. They wouldn't be paying for private health care if the NHS offered the same service level and outcomes.

End the politics of envy or of greed. And welcome in the politics of inclusivity.

At this point, Corbyn - not Labour - supporters better find the deepest darkest hole, maybe the one Jacob Rees-Mogg vacated, and stay there.

Not one word from you. Not. One. Word. The world has already had more than its fair share of Corbynism for several lifetimes.

A welcome independent take on last nights @afneil interview with @NicolaSturgeon from @akmaciver. Independent experts will tell you that joining the #EU is a process, been done in last 25 years by countries as diverse as Finland, Austria, Slovenia and Poland
And #Scotland is ahead of all these countries in having spent 46 yrs in #EU. Of course establishing an #Independent country takes some time but plenty of countries have done it whether Slovenia & Czech Republic or Baltic states throwing off Soviet bloc..
Naturally there will be technical work to be done, technical but it’s not rocket science. It’s been done before and from a standing start

I don't believe that most people who voted leave have any malign intent towards us. I'm not a fan of the EU myself. Still less do I think its an England/Ireland thing, I was born in England, I was schooled there & my partner is English /2

In #France, some #rightwinggroups champion #fight against #climatechange, decry #exploitation of #foreignworkers, growing #economicinequality. What about the #centerright and #centerleft parties? #Polls show they will lose their #majority, and the Euroskeptics bag 30+% of seats.
However, #Euroskeptic, like #populist, is a term that obscures more than it reveals. #Spain’s leftist #Podemos isn’t likely to break bread with #Italy’s rightist #NorthernLeague-#M5S, but both are considered #Euroskeptic. Some are really #wolves but wear #sheepskins.

Amid reports that #UK PM @theresa_may hopes to renegotiate the "backstop" provision on the Northern Ireland border, let's recall that she already made clear what she wants in her letter to #EU leaders before disastrously losing the #Brexit Withdrawal Treaty ratification vote. 1/
"This could be mitigated by changes to the backstop itself," she wrote to @eucopresident & @JunckerEU "Proposals for a way in which the UK could choose to exit the backstop unilaterally were it ever to come into force, or for a hard time limit... 2/
on the duration of the usage of the backstop, have been raised and discussed in Parliament. We have also raised them previously in negotiations." So there are her proposals, i.e. the EU should basically just cave on backstop in face of House of Commons defeat. But but but ... 3/
