Dresden in pictures: Susan Sontag was probably typing Holocaust denier David Irving's wrong numbers of the victims of the Dresden bombing in February 1945.[1] Her picture of the images of horror points out a crime been done at this point . The reverse is true. (Hashtag: #Dresden) 
About 25.000 were killed during air raids between February 13 and April 17, 1945 – not "hundred thousand civilians"[2] It's been just Jürgen Elsässer who's been compiling the arguments against a "big moral" of a "Dresdencaust" in 2003 – Elsässer who later turned far right.
He nowadays represents the national intellect in the FRG, selling his knowledge of twists and turns in the left, especially on a level of a state supportive left. He talks of a "Weltfinanzordnung" ("World Finance Order") ruling capitalism (see his book _Nationalstaat und
Globalisierung_). Sontag and Elsässer seem to have one thing in common. They try to explain the world to others meaning oneself, meaning themselves. A sort of a concept of megalomania or "multimania" may help here and a concept of how simplification works. Simple concepts
reduce complexity by charging the concept with a weight of truth without falsification. Beeing one for all (multimania) those authors don't discuss, they do ex-plain, make things plain and clear on one surface. And true too: its not easy to roughen up discourse. Sontag's picture
of the horror in Dresden, leading to an essay on photos of horror, speaks of murder for Sontag's Dresden. Did she read Irving? Is Elsässer a believer not to be a knower? Is he a sophist? The Dresden-image needs the bombing now for its myth and false history. It's about
to rip the knowledge up here and declaim it from the author, that's by the way why he's or she dead.
