In 2016, impacted people & clergy re-launched the #PoorPeoplesCampaign—when Obama was still in office. A moral agenda empowers ppl to challenge both parties & shift the conversation in public life.
Too often Republicans racialize poverty while Dems run from poverty. Politicians don’t come south & abandon 1/3 of the poor. Debates don’t focus on poverty & low wealth, which leaves out 140 million.
The people are building & have been building a #PoorPeoplesCampaign that is nonpartisan but very political.

Sad to remember that the days between Christmas and New Years have been some of the most violent in black history. Today, we share our grief, pain & hurt—both historically and in this present moment—with our Jewish family.
As the final night of Hanukkah begins, and the lights are kindled in homes and synagogues across the world, we light candles of love, solidarity and justice.
We recommit ourselves to live love and lift the cause of truth, justice and love until freedom and liberation from racism, anti-Semitism, xenophobia, Islamophobia and hate itself truly comes.

As the final night of Hanukkah begins, and the lights are kindled in homes and synagogues across the world, we too kindle lights this night. Lights of love to our Jewish siblings whose community is shaken by violence once more.
Lights of solidarity that cast out the illusion that we are not each children of the same God. Lights of justice to weave once more our communities and to repair the breach.
Lights that illumine the true threats and aberration to the divine: racism, poverty, militarism, ecological devastation, and the distorted moral narratives that would cast us as enemies.
