🤔Didn’t Trump also tell Lavrov in the OO he knew #Russia interfered?? So yes, Putin influences Trump, but Trump’s not duped imo. It’s a win-win for both to clear Russia (and a US betrayal)
Of course Putin's influence over Trump & their parallel propaganda have long been evident (THREADs ⬇). After all, Trump's 2016 campaign & Russia's info warfare echoed & amplified each other. The pattern never stopped; disinformation about Ukraine & Biden just the latest.

Rampell’s right. Trump gets away w/ lies b/c expectations are so low. He & GOP keep hammering “great economy”—tho only 2% growth—knowing media won’t call them on it. I’d add: Propagandists know media does balance to a fault—media elevate any good news to balance all the very bad.

2) The CNN article cites a May 2017 meeting between Trump, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, claiming that Trump had divulged intelligence provided by Israel regarding ISIS activities in Syria.
3) The supposed classified information that CNN accused Trump of mishandling during his meeting with Lavrov and Kislyak appears almost identical to what had been publicly reported by CNN over a month previously.
