Warren attacked Buttigieg during the debate for a fundraiser in a wine cave and claimed she "does not sell access" to her time, but she held a similar high-dollar fundraiser at a winery in Boston in June 2018.

It’s exhausting debating people who are more obsessed with motives than results. Competition lowers costs and improves care. A lack of it will inevitably sacrifice one or both.

Also, goal of single payer will inevitably be to reduce costs, not save lives.
This is the same argument people generally have about free markets. They pretend like self-interest somehow taints the incredible results.

Yes you managed to almost eliminate extreme poverty, but it doesn’t count because you only did it to try to make money for yourself.
The people employed and feeding their families because an entrepreneur started a successful business don’t care that he did it to make money for himself. It’s not better to give them food stamps with good motives than a job motivated by self-interest. It’s results that count.

This is one of the dumbest things I have ever read on this site. Someone who believes this doesn't belong anywhere near Congress.
The share of the world population in extreme poverty has fallen from 50% in 1966 to less than 10% now.

There were ~10 billionaires in 1966. Now over 2K just in the U.S. Those people have created jobs and new markets that have nearly eliminated poverty, not other way around.
Ingratitude and ignorance are a dangerous combo. Most people for most of human history have lived in complete poverty. That changed relatively recently because of a system that lifts up everyone through innovation and growth. Billionaires are typically ppl who fueled that growth.

#ElizabethWarren's bill reminds me of Romney's advice to youths in 4/2012, "Borrow money, if you have to, from your parents. Start a business... [Jimmy John Liautaud] borrowed $20K from his dad..."

The loan was c. 7/82 and was actually $25K.
