If he's not saying 20M new jobs, what exactly is he saying?
Is @BernieSanders saying his Green New Deal would create jobs for all 6M unemployed and also take 14M jobs from other sectors of the economy and move them to energy?

How would that even be done?

And can you imagine the consequences?

@Forbes Sanders may deny that his Green New Deal would increase energy prices, but in boasting that it will create 20 million more jobs, he is pointing to the reason why energy prices would rise. Making anything more labor-intensive makes it more expensive.
@Forbes And making energy, the master resource of the economy, more expensive, slows growth, which would reduce wage growth, and reduces the societal wealth needed for Sanders’ social programs, home-building, and more liberal social attitudes toward minorities, women, and children.

1. Health
2. Education
3. Living Standards

These 3 dimensions are further broken down into 10 Indicators that are easily measurable.
The Ten MPI Indicators:

3 Years of Schooling
4 School Attendance
5 Cooking Fuel
6 Sanitation
7 Water
8 Electricity
9 Floor
10 Asset

The Sustainable Development Goals #SDGs provide direction on how to implement measures to reduce poverty.

We've just released the final report by @Alston_UNSR, the UN Special Rapporteur on extreme #poverty, on his visit to the #UK. The report is available here: undocs.org/A/HRC/41/39/Ad…. A few key takeaways:
Some have asked me why a UN expert on #poverty would visit the #UK. Unfortunately, although the UK is the world’s 5th largest economy, 14 million are in poverty, child poverty is rising & predicted to reach 40% by 2021, homelessness is up 60%, and food bank use has skyrocketed.
To understand #poverty in the #UK, you have to look at the massive disinvestment in social support since 2010: the end of a centralized social fund, changes to the ways benefits are capped & calculated that substantially reduce their value, the decimation of civil legal aid, etc.

Before I start on the places, the history around all this is fascinating & splits opinion. Is it apt to call the script Tamili/Tamil Brahmi? Did it develop independently in the Tamil country/come with the Jain monks from the north? Were 8,000 Jains actually impaled in Madurai?>

The first thing to say is that @duncanrobinson & @econcallum are to be congratulated on a serious piece of analysis, which avoids the parade of dismal, lazy clichés that we see in so many other publications. Serious political journalism shouldn't be so rare, but it's good to see!
There's a useful analytic frame in dividing Labour's political economy thinking into fiscal policy, monetary policy, and structural reforms. And it's right to say that the third of these will actually be the most significant.
