Today, how many enemies do Muslims have? Physically, ideologically, politically, & culturally (ie alluring pop culture conflicting w Sharia). You can’t count. On a daily basis, the avg Muslim faces multiple challenges. Last thing he needs is getting hurt from within.
Jabs, sarcasm, mockery...from Muslim to Muslim... this makes zero sense when considering the amount of devastation enemy forces are doing upon our umma every minute.
There is no choir anymore. Every Muslim is on the edge, and needs support.

Imam Shafii said, cure the patient, do not kill him.
There is the Quranic green-light to return like harm with like harm. There is also, “respond with what is better.” So which applies? It’s a judgement call. In our scenario today, the latter applies wallahu a’lam.
Argumentation is the beginning of war. Both result in disillusionment. It is recorded that Malik never engaged in nor attended an argument, where each side attacked the other. Whenever it happened he would say “You are war,” and got up and left.
I apply this to myself who has an aggressive personality to begin with. But also have seen the damage of disillusionment. For example, I’ve been too mean with Athari brothers. The real enemies don’t distinguish between us. The same opinions can be stated without put downs.
