After a little-noticed robbery of Sh13.5 million at the Co-operative Bank’s branch in Makutano Junction,Meru County,7 years ago, two of the lender’s employees became the proverbial fall guys despite the fact that the missing loot was traced to an account owned by Mithika Linturi.
The robbery took place sometime between the night of November 2, 2012 and early the following day.
A DCI officer sat in his office along Kiambu Rd in Nov. 2012 looking at a couple of statements recorded after the theft & decided that there was no need for further investigations before moving to have Ms Harriet Kanorio,Mr Wilson Wanjohi & Mr Ensume Muriungi Mithika tried.

On July 29,members of the U.S. Senate voted 45 to 40 to block new sales of laser-guided bombs and aircraft maintenance services to Saudi Arabia—falling short of the two-thirds majority necessary to override a veto by the Trump administration blocking the ban from taking effect.
Despite deteriorating public support for Riyadh due to its implication in anexceptional number of civilian deaths in Yemen and the murder of one of its own citizens in the Turkish embassy, the flow of U.S. arms is set to continue.
Earlier in May, the Trump administration argued the new sales could be authorized on an emergency basis, bypassing congressional review, due to escalating tensions with Iran in the Persian Gulf.

A country where most people in regulatory positions have links to ruthless folks whose purpose in life is to cut corners & grease the palms of gate keepers. With the obstacles deliberately positioned to frustrate businesses, to obtain FX, the black market may be your only hope.
Just before the news of indictment make you conclude on your fellow countryman, think for a bit and realize that what we deem normal even in government circles in Nigeria are aberrations abroad. The operations of our bankers are fraudulent activities abroad if vetted.
