Our concern about the participation of the JDL in Sunday’s march prompted us to speak too soon. We know that the fight against antisemitism is part of the fight for collective liberation for all people. [1/4]
Because of that we consistently show up not just for others but also for ourselves — that’s what freedom and dignity for all means. It is for this reason that many of our members will be marching on January 5, alongside our friends and partners and broader community. [2/4]
We disagree profoundly with many of the organizers, and we reject tactics that rely on policing or alignment with white nationalists. We know that those tactics harm Jews of Color and harm many of the communities with which we need to build solidarity. [3/4]
But the fight against antisemitism is not theirs alone to claim. We are #JewishAndProud: This weekend, and always, we will continue to organize, in solidarity with our neighbors, for a world in which all people can be safe. #SafetyInSolidarity [4/4]
