2019 I had the privilege of adventuring our beautiful Uganda with my awesome friends.. peep at some of the places we visited below & a little bit about the experience given the word limit. Also, the order is based on time visited. I attached some of the contacts too.
#1. Let’s start with the beautiful Tororo Rock because East or west, Home is best. Grew up in this district but I can never get enough of our rock and the ancestral tales about its formation. This is our emblem.
#2. The Victoria Forest Resort in Kalangala island. Most well maintained tourist location in Kalangala. hospitable & clean. It has amazing views, available only on reservation. Visit during off peak seasons to get a great package. They serve a lot of food😁. (+256773 243 767)
#3. Brovad Sands Lodge in Kalangala island.serene & cool ambience. However, the pool is very poorly maintained so one can’t swim, perhaps in the lake. Food is amazing & affordable. The service is alright too. (+256701 601 297)
#4. Kaazi Resort Beach Resort Busabala. A new fancy beach with a lovely wide swimming pool. They also have accommodation but Service was quite slow. Reservations must be made especially when visiting in big numbers. (+256787 475 009)
#5. Jinja Sailing Club. I always eat their delicious deep fried fresh fish. Very professional service. They offer boat cruises and you can enjoy the Lake Victoria cool breeze as you lounge at the compound under the trees. It’s a quiet place and good for family day outs too.
#6. While in Jinja, I also enjoyed the hospitable Chel & Vade cottages. These are artistic with very good customer care. They are also known for their hefty breakfast menu that comes with the accommodation. It also has a nice view of the new Jinja Bridge. (+256 782 738548)
#7. Lutembe Beach. Very beautiful as you can see but their service delivery is equally very poor, food took hours to arrive after ordering and they had no proper dining areas or furniture, too many flies too. Lower your expectations as you visit it. (+256 782 290 309)
#8. Kapeeka Shooting Range in Nakaseke District. “China Uganda Exchange Club Shooting Range”. Each bullet costs 5,000Ugshs & horse riding was 25,000Ugshs. Reservations to be made as they sometimes run out of bullets. Lovely but pricey restaurant too is available. (+256784 819998)
#9. Buvi Lodge. This one is about an hour from Kampala. It’s a unique small cozy place with many rooms for accommodation. It’s quiet and secluded. Recommended for couples that need to “regroup”. (+256 752 758 550)
#10. Nile Discovery in Jinja District by the shores of River Nile. (The Nyege Nyege Holy Grounds). Everyone knows about these so no need to say much here.
#11. Chobe Safari Lodge. This is no doubt by far the most worthy getaway location. The service was impeccable & views were breathtaking. No wonder @KimKardashian & @kanyewest visited it. The food was great & of adequate quantity. Reservations are compulsory . (+256772 788 887)
#12. Murchison Falls & National Game Park. Here we saw many wild animals including the king of the jungle, we were privileged to have a knowledgeable guide so we had the best experience. We hiked to the top of the falls, the view was simply breathtaking. More pics are in order.
#13. Paraa Safari Lodge is beautiful, it’s walkable from the Murchison Falls though it’s abit pricey. We lunched there briefly before embarking on our journey back to Kampala. (+256 752788880).
#14. The beautiful Tooro Kingdom. You can see most of Fort Portal from this magnificent hill. A very hospitable royal guard educated us about the historical tales of the lovely Kingdom and took us around it. The property is abit abandoned as the King is rarely around.
#15. Kyaninga Lodge. Perfect get out of town location. Very pricey accommodation but worth it. The food is delicious but little. Reservations MUST be made beforehand. Askari has a list of the day’s reservations so you won’t even enter the gate without that. (+256 772 999 750)
#16. The Semuliki National Park and Hot springs in Bundibugyo District. Our eager guide entertained us with the legends about the formation of the hot springs. This place is as hot as a sauna & apparently, the waters have healing power too but the is not safe for drinking.
#17. amabere ga inna mwiru. A cultural site located afew kms from Fort Portal town. The story behind these caves is very intriguing, it’s almost impossible not to fall in love with african cultures listening to these tales from our charismatic tour guide, Latiff. (+256 777744370)
#18.Kagulu Rocks in Kamuli. Nearly died when I started sliding backwards with nothing to hold on to, it had rained the previous day & some parts of the rock were slippery. But being my adventurous self, I maneuvered and made it to the very top.The view from up there is to die for
#19. Latitude 0 Hotel in Makindye. This is no doubt the most beautiful hotel I have been to in Ug. Too fancy that we could barely understand the menu but regardless, we dined & had a good time. professional service. Kindly note you can only access on reservation. Be warned😁.
#20. Lamela Wild Waters Lodge. Can only be accessed on reservation too & the service is top notch. Only a-few people can visit the location at a time as the area is generally small. The lunch also comes with a free drink & swimming is $10. Food was delicious & of ample quantity.
#21. White Water rafting at Adrift Uganda. By far the most dangerous adventure I have been on. Wrote a blog on this one. We paid 250,000Ugshs for the full day raft. I learnt the importance of sunscreen😄. (+256 31 2237438).
#22. Quad Biking at the All Terrain Adventure in Jinja. Here we paid $75 per head. The terrain was muddy & the experience was adrenaline pumping, part of the terrain is by the Nile so the view is beautiful but overalls were worn out & too wrinkled. (+256 772 377 185)
#23. Zip lining at Griffin falls Park in Mabira Forest. Here we paid 60,000Ugshs per head & signed liability waivers before partaking the risky adventure. I could see gushing water & vegetation below while zip lining, the adrenaline was for World Cup . (+256775 239 068)
