1) I think at this point we got the message: should anybody meddle in clandestine and possibly illegal affairs between the USA government and mercenaries (Private Military Contractors), yet paid by American taxpayers, there will be "disproportional retaliation". 
2) With ample evidence concerning the promiscuous relations between Private Military Contractors and Transnational Criminal Organizations, one just must wander who exactly POTUS has in mind on the matter of protection.

3) Remember: this whole mess began (of course, it has a much more complex context) with the death of a mercenary whose name we don't know, working for a PMS we are not told, on an undisclosed mission.
