With one event, the death of Soleimani, which we are now clear was planned, the impact list includes:
-Putin in region to offer goodies for alliance. Syria & Iraq deep in nonlinear conflict, he is focused on Libya
/1
-Region-wide protests against corrupt regimes -- protests we should be supporting, protests Putin always fears -- lose momentum
-once again our allies pissed because no one talked to them
/2
-this will enter POTUS feedback loop of whining allies don't do enough, worse relations etc
/3
- US left & right alike now arguing US should leave ME, stay home, deal with own problems. Isolationism/"America is the worst" thinking that echoes Kremlin narratives
/4
- Now easier for lame Euros and others with investment to normalize Iran
/5
- no one is fighting regional terrorism at the moment. This doesn't help us but Assad is fine w it 🙄
- Erdogan leveraging all parties for additional gains, esp Russia
/6
- while we are deploying more resources to ME and against these threats, we aren't paying attention to real strategic threats -- like Russia and China
/7
- sh*t stirred back home. What impeachment? We're in a crisis! 🙄
/8
- More POTUS secret meetings with foreign creeps. Everyone knows by now Kushner isn't solving sh*t
