A reminder that this is what civilian air traffic looked like over Iran/Iraq after the ballistic missiles strikes on Al Asad airbase.

As context for “how was that plane even flying” discussions.
These flights took off in the window during/after the attack on Al Asad. (More than a dozen also landed at IKA during this same window).
In a report tonight, @jimsciutto stated that 27 flights took off or landed at Tehran’s IKA airport between the Al Asad strike & the plane crash.

About 4 hr window.

Planes were taking off/landing on same runways before and after the Ukraine Airways flight at regular frequency.
Would be curious to know what behavior was observed vis-a-vis these other flights and the air defense systems.

Were they all “painted” by the radar targeting systems? Etc.
