Dear @JustinTrudeau : thanks for forcefully demanding the truth in the #PS752 case.

But I hope you'll remember that, long before the recent conflicts, Iran had kept on targeting Canadians.

"Escalation" is not the explanation. Here are some examples."
@JustinTrudeau 2-In 2003, they killed the Canadian photojournalist Zahra Kazemi.

While initially denying it, they later said she had hit her own head after fainting.

Then a doctor said she was killed as he was the one who examined her.

No one has been held to account for her death.
@JustinTrudeau 3-In 2008, they arrested Hamid Ghassemi-Shall, the Canadian-Iranian businessman on fake charges of espionage.

He was jailed in the notorious Evin prison until 2013. They also arrested his brother, Alborz, who died in prison.

@JustinTrudeau 4-In late April 2006, Iranian authorities arrested Iranian-Canadian, Ramin Jahanbegloo, a philosopher/professor on charges of spying. He was held in Evin Prison for 126 days.
@JustinTrudeau 5-In 2009, at the height of Green Movement protests, authorities imprisoned @maziarbahari, another Iranian-Canadian and, at the time, Newsweek journalist for 118 days.

He was regularly beaten and threatened with execution until his release.
@JustinTrudeau @maziarbahari 6-In 2008, authorities arrested Hossein Derkhshan, also known as Hoder, an Iranian-Canadian blogger, journalist, and researcher. He remained imprisoned in Tehran from November 2008 to November 2014.
@JustinTrudeau @maziarbahari 7-Saeed Malekpour is probably the one who faced one of the harshest treatments.

Imprisoned in 2008 on charges of “corrupting the earth”, Malekpour remained imprisoned until 2019.

Initially sentenced to death, he also suffered a heart attack during his imprisonment
@JustinTrudeau @maziarbahari 7-@Mostafaa_Azizi, a Toronto-based filmmaker, was arrested in January 2015 on charges of insulting the supreme leader and spreading propaganda against the state while visiting relatives in Iran. He remained imprisoned for one year.
@JustinTrudeau @maziarbahari @Mostafaa_Azizi 8-Homa Hoodfar, Iranian-Canadian sociocultural anthropologist and professor based in Montréal, was incarcerated for 112 days in Tehran's Evin Prison.

She was threatened with death and was subjected to psychological torture
@JustinTrudeau @maziarbahari @Mostafaa_Azizi 9-Kavous Seyed Emami, one of the founders of the Persian Wildlife Heritage Foundation & a professor, died in detention, which the Iranian authorities attributed to suicide. This claim was rejected by his family. In his case as well, justice has still not been served.
