Reading angry replies, emails etc., it amazes me how many people think if you're not on their team you must be on the other team by default. 1/3
For over 20 years I've been saying that "If you're not with us, you're against us" and "if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem" is anti-democratic and fundamentally totalitarian crap, and most conservative audiences agreed. 2/3
They agreed because they thought I was solely criticizing the left. But now in the age of "binary choice!11!!!" and "Flight 93!" so many conservatives subscribe to the same "if you're not with us, you're against us" thinking. And so do the "resistance" types. It's exhausting. 3/3
