How To Keep Cortisol Low (Thread):

Cortisol is THE stress hormone.

More cortisol =

- Harder to lose fat.
- Easier to lose muscle.
- FAR more likely to incur health problems.

No joke - cortisol is one of the biggest causes of long-term health problems.

This thread will show you how you can keep yours as low as possible, and consequentially:

+ Have higher testosterone
+ Have more muscle
+ Lose fat more easily
+ Live a better quality of life

Let's go:
1) Sleep

Number one is sleep, and for a reason.

One of the biggest reasons people never really experience a drop in stress levels, is due to lack of sleep.

Sleeping only 4-6 hrs isn't enough.

Stress is usually an accumulation.

And sleep prevents this build up.

More:
- Go to bed earlier
- Cut caffeine off by 12pm
- Turn screens off earlier
- Cut back on booze

Next:
2) Full Body Training

This means:

- Shorter workouts (45 mins or so)
- 4 days off (ore recovery days) per week

If your workouts are well over 1 hr, your stress will rise.

If you don't have enough days off, your stress levels will rise.

If you're over 40 and interested in decreasing cortisol while increasing testosterone, you can learn exactly how to implement this full body training I'm talking about below on the Bond program:

3) Meditation

Now I'm no expert on this, but meditating has proven time and time again to reduce stress levels.

If you currently struggle to sleep, then I recommend doing this just before bed for best results.

There's plenty of apps like Headspace to guide you.

Next:
4) Oxytocin

Again, this one's been proven over and over to reduce stress levels.

Maintain good relationships, and you'll keep cortisol down, and testosterone up.

Next:
5) Have Fun

People talk a lot about work-life balance.

And the two main areas to the 'life' part are:

A) Recovery/rest
B) Fun

Sleep is still king.

But fun is also a requirement - just make sure it DOESN'T include boozy weekends!!!

Next:
6) Get Enough Water

Most people are going to need 2-4 litres per day, yet most get less than two.

It's a very fast way to ensure that you maintain chronically high stress levels, especially when coupled with lack of sleep.

Get enough water.
