Trump told CNBC in today's interview, "I've created almost 700,000 manufacturing jobs." Aside from the "I": it's 487,000 added since Jan. 2017.

He continued, "The past administration said manufacturing is dead." It did not. Trump is, again, mischaracterizing an Obama remark.
Trump has said repeatedly that Obama's "magic wand" 2016 comment was a claim that American manufacturing is dead. No: Obama was saying some manufacturing jobs wouldn't come back. But he also boasted about how many were being created. Here's the text: pbs.org/newshour/show/…
